Perception Rudder Kit For Solo Kayaks, Mid Pin

Called the Perception Rudder Kit Short Pin, this is technically a Mid Pin rudder, but mounts as a Bayonet Pin on some late models. Perception only has two pin types, so this is understandable. The majority of Perception kayaks, and nearly all the classic Perception kayak will take a Long Pin rudder. See the Industy Standard Pin Size Guide Video for a better understanding. Maybe Dual Pin should be the name.

A rudder will increase the tracking and turning ability of your Perception solo kayak. Sliding foot controls allows you to steer your kayak with your feet. This kit is designed to work with Perception and Wilderness Systems kayak models with a Mid Pin rudder bracket, such as the Wilderness Systems Bracket. Kit includes installation instructions and all the parts needed. This kit is not compatible with Long Pin rudder rudder systems.

Pin is 3/8 inch in diameter, 1 15/16 inches long and must have 1/4 inch exposed for the rudder pin ring. Not only is this a mid pin style but is also a bayonet style, unique to Wilderness Systems kayaks, such as the Thresher and Focus both models that would be outfitted with the Course Control bayonet style BTS rudder.

This kit contains the BTS Rudder Bracket (for flat stern), some Spectra Cord and Cable Swivels that are not shown in the Perception stock photo shown above.
